Vancouver Giants are hoping the force will be with them during their next home game, that falls between Christmas and New Year's.
The local Western Hockey League team will be suiting up in special garb and mustering the force during the Dec. 29 match up against the Kelowna Rockets.
It's the G-Men's Star Wars night, and in keeping with the theme, players will be suited up in special all-white Stormtrooper jerseys.
"The Vancouver Giants invite you to the dark side for a special theme night at 91Ô´´ Events Centre (LEC)," said Nathan Kanter, director of broadcasting and media relations.
The night, presented by Save-On-Foods, includes a chance for audience members to go home with one of the customized jerseys, Kanter explained.
The team's last game was Sunday, Dec. 15, where they fell 5-1 to the Tri-City Americans. After the Christmas holiday, the G-Men play an away game against the Blazers, in Kamloops, on Friday, Dec. 27. Then, it's their home game against Kelowna on the Sunday, where the puck drops at 4 p.m.
Tickets for the next game at 91Ô´´ Events Centre are available at chl.ca/whl-giants/tickets.
After that, the Giants take on the Victoria Royals in back-to-back games on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day, the first afternoon matchup is in Victoria, and the Jan. 1 game is at LEC.
