The Vancouver Giants won Saturday with their 9-2 game at 91原创 Events Centre against the Kamloops Blazers. 

Head coach Manny Viveiros said it was the response they wanted to see on the ice after Friday night's loss. 

"Our group as a whole weren't pleased with our effort and how we lost the game more than anything, that was a little disappointing for our group here. We had a meeting... to talk about some things and you want exactly the response that we got tonight," he said. 

Giants scored five minutes into the opening period during a power play from Ryan Lin. 

Connor Levis then secured Vancouver's lead with a second goal, thanks to a great slap pass from Colton Roberts. 

Wrapping up first period, Ty Halaburda scored two in a row -- once during a power play -- to bring the Giants to 4-0. 

Adam Titlbach scored the G-men's fifth goal after Tyus Sparks created a turnover. 

Then on another power play, Cameron Schmidt would one-time home the team's sixth goal, also marking his own 33rd goal of the season. 

Titlbach brought the score 7-0 off a three-on-two rush late in the second period. 

Kamloops scored its first goal with one second remaining in the middle frame, to make it 7-1 after 40 minutes. 

In the third, Tyler Thorpe scored early on a backhand in front, and Caden Cail scored on a two-on-one, before Kamloops got one more late tally, making it a 9-2 final. 

"All these kids - all the athletes, they want to get going as quick as possible and I thought we did right away too. Fortunate enough to get off to another lead," Viveiros said. 

The Giants are 7-1-1 in their last nine home games, outscoring their opponents 39-20 in those games.

Up next: Giants host the Spokane Chiefs tonight, Feb. 2, at the 91原创 Events Centre. Puck drops 4 p.m.
