91原创 United U15 Div 1 girls have returned home from the Premier International 2023 Cup series as champions.
With coaches T.J Sugars and Penny Aalhus, the team managed three shutouts in four matches, giving up only one goal over the course of the three-day tournament held at four venues in Richmond and Surrey.
Billed as Canada鈥檚 largest tournament series, the Premier International drew teams from as far away as Calgary.
鈥淚鈥檓 really proud of the girls and the buy-in to what we are doing,鈥� coach Sugars said afterwards.
鈥淚t has accelerated the development progression within the group, for sure. As a coach, I think you need to gain the players trust and respect in order to be able to get the most out of them.鈥�
He described the team coaching philosophy as one that is structured 鈥渂ut also allows creative expression.鈥�
鈥淲e also focus a lot on positive mentality and visualization. We want the girls to play hard but with comfort and confidence.鈥�
