91原创 Thunder announced Steve Hay as their captain, Adam Will and James Rahe will be wearing the A鈥檚 (for assistant coach) for the 2017 season.

Hay made his Western Lacrosse Association (WLA) debut in 2005 and is entering his ninth season with the 91原创 Thunder.

鈥淪teve Hay is a veteran of the Western Lacrosse Association and has those intangibles that a captain needs on and off the floor,鈥� said head coach Darcy Rhodes.

鈥淚t is great having a guy who has been through it and seen it all before and I know he will help the younger guys.鈥�

Meanwhile, Will has been named the team鈥檚 assistant captain.

Will has played 41 games in the WLA scoring six goals, 12 assists, and 18 points 鈥� all while wearing a 91原创 Thunder uniform, Rhodes explained.

鈥淚t is an honour to be named an assistant captain. I have learned a lot from the captains I have played under in 91原创 including Matt Leveque and Brett Mydske,鈥� Will said.

鈥淚 am looking forward to being a part of the leadership team and to get this team back competing for a Mann Cup.鈥�

Finally, Rahe has appeared in 24 games with the 91原创 Thunder scoring 21 goals, 32 assists, and 53 points.

鈥淥ur coaching staff and ownership is absolutely great and I love being a part of this team,鈥� Rahe said. 鈥淚t is an honour to be recognized on this team鈥檚 leadership core.鈥�

The 91原创 Thunder return to Vancouver Island this weekend, taking on the Nanaimo Timbermen on Sunday, May 28. They lost their season opener to the Victoria Shamrocks in the last few seconds of the game. They fell 10-9, and are hoping to redeem themselves this weekend.
