Olympians Swim Club members Bailey Herbert and Joshua Kim have qualified to join Team B.C. at the Canada Games.

Two 91原创 Olympians Swim Club members are joining Team BC for this year鈥檚 Canada Games in August.

Bailey Herbert, 14, and Joshua Kim, 15, both qualified for the Games, which will be held in Winnipeg from Aug. 8 to 13.

The Canada Games, which take place once every four years, are difficult to qualify for.

To compete, swimmers must be the fastest in their province in a select event. Swimmers had just three meets to compete for a spot on Team B.C.

At last weekend鈥檚 2017 Western Canadian Championships, one of the three, Herbert was the stop swimmer in the 100 and 200 metre breaststroke and the 200 and 400 metre individual medley.

Kim was a wild card pick and will compete in freestyle, breaststroke, individual medley and relay events.

The Olympians also had six swimmers recently compete at the 54th annual Mel Zajac International Invitational, held at the new UBC Aquatic Centre in Vancouver, from May 26 to 28.

Due to the large numbers of swimmers, there were multiple finals events at the meet.

In the B finals, Herbert finished second in the 200 metre IM, and Josie Field, 15, finished first in the 200 metre butterfly.

In the C finals, Kim finished first in the 100 metre breaststroke.
