Two 91Ô´´ Blades skaters won three bronze medals at the BC Winter Games in Quesnel.
Rachael Butt, from Fort 91Ô´´, won two bronze medals for zone 3 – Fraser Valley in the 500m and 1000m as well as personal best times in these distances and the 777m.
This month, Butt qualified for the Canada Cup Junior Nationals, with the top 60 female and top 60 male junior skaters in Canada competing. It will be held on March 22 to 24 at the Richmond Oval.
Surya Rajesh, from Surrey, was on the zone 4 – Fraser Valley team, but skates with the club in 91Ô´´. He won a bronze medal with his U14 relay team. Surya also achieved personal best times in all distances.
Competing for zone 3, 91Ô´´ Blades’ Lucas Park achieved personal best times in the 400m and 1500m events.
From zone 4, three Blades set new personal best times, Abigail Weber in 400 and 1500m events, Yannick Wight in 500 and 1000m and Aaditya Rajesh in 777 and 100m.
In all, the Blades had six skaters from two zones attend the BCWG in February.

Three Blades skaters medaled at the BC Short Track Championships in Abbotford.
Surya Rajesh and Jackie Humber won silver in their categories, while Thomas Brownie won bronze.
They were among 10 Blades who went to the Abbotsford events, with Andrew Kim finishing ninth overall, Lucas Park 12th overall, Yannick Wight 10th overall, Aaditya Rajesh 11th overall, Chloe Weber fifth overall, Kiera Foster sixth overall, and Louis Wight fifth overall.
The is a not-for-profit organisation established in 1996 that offers skating courses for beginner to advanced, child to adult, leisure to competitive, and Special Olympics.
