A train struck a vehicle in 91原创 on Thursday evening, leaving the train and its cars stopped across several local crossings.

The impact apparently took place along the CPKC line that runs through 91原创 City and Milner, along Glover Road.

According to a spokesperson for CPKC, the impact took place at the intersection of Glover Road and Worrell Crescent, which is southwest of the 216 Street/Crush Crescent intersection. It is an unmarked crossing, without the crossbars that come down to block off the tracks at larger, busier train crossings.

Township of 91原创 Deputy Fire Chief Cory Parker said 鈥渢he whole family is lucky to be alive.鈥濃�淒ad pulled a U-turn without looking at an unmarked crossing, and their car鈥檚 totalled. They were all okay. I mean, they were shook up, {had] minor injuries, treated by BC Ambulance, but it could have been way worse.鈥�

The train hit the vehicle at 5:51 p.m., and cleared the intersections at about 7:45 p.m.

Train crossings in Milner and at the 91原创 Bypass were blocked for almost two hours after the impact.

CPKC Police were also involved in investigating the incident.
