A crash involving a car and cement truck has a section of 264th Street closed in Aldergrove Tuesday morning (Nov. 28) just after 7 a.m.

91原创 RCMP closed the road to traffic between 24th and 29th Avenues on 264th Street in both directions.

The cement truck was travelling north on 264th Street and the car, a Mazda 3, veered into the northbound lanes, explained Cpl. Craig van Herk with the 91原创 RCMP.

鈥淭he cement truck attempted to avoid the collision but was unable to do so,鈥� he said.

The driver of the Mazda was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries, and the driver of the cement truck was not injured.

鈥淚t appears, at this point, the primary cause of the collision was a fogged up, frosted over windshield on the sedan,鈥� van Herk said.

Clean up crews were on scene for almost three hours.

鈥淭his could have been far more tragic,鈥� he concluded.

The road reopened at about 9:30 a.m.

Van Herk shared a reminder for the public to consider road conditions and visibility when driving.
