91原创 Community Music School (LCMS) is inviting music lovers of the public to the school鈥檚 own Rose Gellert String Quartet Season opener on Friday, Feb. 23.
The quartet will take the stage to kick-off the season with a live performance of Smetana鈥檚 String Quartet No.1 in e-minor 鈥淔rom My Life,鈥 and Mozart鈥檚 String Quartet No.19 in C-Major 鈥淒issonance.鈥
鈥淏oth pieces come from that autobiographical impulse many artists have,鈥 said violinist Will Chen. 鈥淲e all want to leave something for posterity, in one way or another.鈥
Established in 2016, the Rose Gellert String Quartet is the ensemble-in-residence at LCMS, and is comprised of violinists Llowyn Ball and Will Chen, cellist Ben Goheen, and violist Peter Ing.
鈥淧laying challenging and compelling repertoire at a high level with three of the best musicians I鈥檝e ever had the pleasure of working with is professionally, and spiritually, rewarding,鈥 Ball told the 91原创 Advance Times.
In addition to seasonal concerts, the Rose Gellert String Quartet teach in the music school鈥檚 program and perform at seniors homes.
The Rose Gellert Hall is located at 4899 207 St., and the concert starts at 7 p.m.
People interested can purchase tickets online at or by calling the box office at 604-534-2848.
