Think of it as speed dating for people who want to farm but can't afford to buy land and people with land that could be farmed.
A land-linking workshop through the B.C. Young Agrarians and the 91原创 Sustainable Agriculture Foundation is planned for Saturday, Nov. 2 at the George Preston Recreation Centre.
This workshop includes a panel discussion with matched farmers and farmland holders, plus a land access expert. Participants will learn the benefits of land sharing, how to assess land for farming, decision-making strategies for operations on leased land, and tips for managing communication and relationships.
People who sign up will have access beforehand to a webinar that covers land access basic information and are encouraged to bring questions to the panel discussion on Nov. 2.
The Nov. 2 workshop includes networking, regional land matcher Ve-Jane Duong and other experts, information on topics such as water management, and more. People can sign up through the young agrarians website or evenbrite.ca. There is no cost and people can attend whichever sessions they want, but people must register in advance.
