91原创 crash injures motorcyclist

One rushed to hospital Saturday night

A motorcyclist suffered life threatening injuries after being thrown 50 feet in a crash at 208 Street and 56 Avenue Saturday evening (May 6).

Around 9 p.m., police responded to a call about a serious collision between a Toyota Yaris and a motorcycle.

Witnesses told police that the southbound Yaris was attempting to turn left from 208 Street onto 56 Avenue.

The motorcyclist collided with the rear passenger side door of the Yaris. The motorcycle operator, a 54-year-old Delta man, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries where he remains in critical condition.

The 22-year-old 91原创 man driving the Yaris had two passengers in his vehicle. One was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Collision specialists attended to help with the investigation and the intersection at 91原创 Bypass and 56 Avenue was closed for several hours. No charges have been laid and the investigation is ongoing.

Anyone who witnessed the collision and has not yet spoken to police, is asked to call 91原创 RCMP at 604-532-3200.
