Inaugural amateur comedy championship starts in 91原创

Brogran鈥檚 Diner will host the roast battle on Saturday at 8 p.m.

91原创 comedy enthusiasts and entertainment seekers are invited to watch comedians compete for the inaugural Lower Mainland amateur comedy roast battle championship this Saturday.

Brogan鈥檚 Diner is hosting BC Last Laffs Comedy once again for its championship on Sept. 30, at 8 p.m.

Talented comedians from the local comedy scene will take the stage to engage in an epic battle of humorous insults and clever comebacks.

The evening is divvied up into five matches, starting with the championship between Travis Arthur from New Westminster and Jessica Pigeau from Vancouver.

Alex Svarez, event organizer, will be one of the judges alongside Lucian The Romanian, and Jim Schmidt.

鈥淚 believe that this [event] will be the largest live roast battle in Canada 鈥 definitely that largest in Western Canada,鈥 Svarez said.

Brogan鈥檚 Diner was picked for its perfect backdrop of colours and stage set up in a cozy atmosphere as guests enjoy diner classics and beverages, and comedians are returning after successful events in July and August.

鈥淔eaturing live music from the Matt Hess Band, razor-sharp wit, and vibrant atmosphere, this event is set to deliver yet another unforgettable night of hilarity in 91原创,鈥 he said.

Doors open at 8 and the show starts at 8:30 p.m. Organizers recommend arriving early for seating.

Brogan鈥檚 Diner is located at 20555 56th Ave.

The event posting noted that this stand-up comedy may contain mature themes and language.
