Just after midnight of Friday, Aug. 2 the 91Ô´´ RCMP was called to the 7000 block of 202 Street after a report of gun shots was received.
"As officers were responding an additional report was received of two men suffering from gunshot wounds at the hospital. One of the men has succumbed to his injuries," said Cpl. Craig van Herk, 91Ô´´ RCMP.
The shooting is believed to be an isolated incident and the investigation is in the evidence-gathering phase.

"The area surrounding the scene on 202 Street will be cordoned off for a significant amount of time. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been called and will be working in partnership with the 91Ô´´ RCMP," he added.

The site of the shooting was an older two-storey home on a two-acre lot. The site has a large for-sale sign indicating it could be re-developed into condos.
The exterior of the home and yard was somewhat run-down, with a number of vehicles, appliances, and containers in the yard.
