The Fort 91原创 Library will be moving to its new location next month, as progress continues on a phased in opening of the salishan Place by the River.

The Fort's library branch was housed for years in the Fort 91原创 Community Hall, but when salishan was proposed, it was designed with space for the library. 

salishan Place is a cultural centre and museum, and is intended as a replacement and upgrade from the almost 70-year-old 91原创 Centennial Museum, which opened in the 1950s.

Delays in construction of salishan Place meant that the library's lease with the community hall ran out before it could move into the new location. Instead, the library has run a pop-up location in the museum since Feb. 3, 2024.

After a year in the 91原创 Centennial Museum, the pop-up location will be open for its last day there on Feb. 7, according to Fraser Valley Regional Library staff.

Residents and readers will be able to take a look at its new location on Feb. 8, during a public open house at salishan Place. The open house runs from 12:30 to 4 p.m., and visitors will have a chance to see the newly opened library, as well as checking out the rest of the facility.
