Guns, drugs, tens of thousands of dollars in cash and even a car have been seized by RCMP across the Lower Mainland.
Last month, from March 18 to 24, the Uniform Gang Enforcement Team conducted searches across the region that turned out to be successful. From Surrey, 91原创, New Westminster, Chilliwack, Maple Ridge and North Vancouver, many items linked to organized crime were located, according to a press release from the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit of B.C.
鈥淪eizing illegal drugs, cash and firearms disrupts criminal enterprises and diminishes the ability of organized crime to harm communities," said CFSEU-BC media spokesperson Cpl. Sarbjit K. Sangha.
"By removing these dangerous elements from the streets, CFSEU officers not only protect the public鈥檚 safety but also restore a sense of security, ensuring that communities can thrive without the threat of violence or drug-related harm."
In total, three guns were seized by police including a shotgun, a semi-automatic pistol and a replica firearm. Additionally, $330,000, a Tesla Model 3, five knives, two cans of bear spray, a smoke grenade, two digital scales and several cellphones were taken.
Cocaine totalling 107 grams, 147 grams of what police suspect to be fentanyl, and more drugs believed to be methamphetamine, cannabis, psilocybin, prescription medication, ketamine, oxycodone and crystal meth were also seized by the gang enforcement team.
