The public is invited to the official announcement of a sizable planned expansion of the 91原创 Events Centre, with three new ice rinks and two dry floor arenas next week.

The celebration, to be held at LEC Building B, will include lacrosse and hockey activities, as well as representatives from 91原创 Minor Hockey, 91原创 Girls Hockey, 91原创 Minor Lacrosse, and Valley Ball Hockey.

There will be information presented to the public for the new facility.

The event will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 10 starting at 6 p.m.

In September, Township council voted to increase the potential funding envelope for the project from $100 million to $149 million.

The project is to be built with three ice rinks on the ground floor, and two dry floor arenas above them, along with underground parking.

It will be built to the north of the current facility.

The Township anticipates ultimately funding most of the costs of the new facility, over the long term, from Community Amenity Contributions (CACs) which are contributions given by developers for projects such as rec centres and libraries.
