A drug lab was discovered in a 91原创 apartment after police were called by neighbours who heard a woman whimpering inside.

On Friday, May 5 around 1 p.m. 91原创 RCMP were called to a residential apartment building in the 21000 block of 56 Avenue.

Callers told police they could hear a woman whimpering in one of the apartments.

Police attended and heard the same noises, said Cpl. Holly Largy. Occupants of the residence ignored police requests to open the door so entry was made by force, she said.

The 鈥榳himpering鈥� was actually coming from a TV. But one man was located inside who appeared to be suffering the effects of illicit drug use.

The 41-year-old was apprehended by officers and taken to the hospital. While inside the apartment, officers observed what appeared to be a clandestine lab.

Investigators obtained and executed a search warrant the following day with the assistance of the 鈥淓鈥� Division CLEAR Team (Clandestine Laboratory Enforcement and Response).

Items located in the apartment are believed to be consistent with the production of DMT (Dimemthyltryptamine), a psychedelic drug.

All hazardous chemicals were removed, said police. 91原创 Drug Section will retain conduct of the investigation.

The 41-year-old has been released from custody and the investigation is ongoing.
