With the spooky season upon us, the Greater Vancouver Zoo is getting in the spirit and hosting their annual “fang-tastic” Halloween event this weekend.

The two-day event runs Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 28 and 29, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

It includes educational games and activities, face painting, hot chocolate, and a fall photo opportunity.

Guests are encouraged to wear their costumes to get into the spooky spirit.

“Enjoy the festivities, take a walk around the zoo, and have a ghoulishly good time,” said Joshua Banta, marketing supervisor with the zoo.

Kids can get a free hot chocolate at the Coffee Hut in the zoo – one per customer.

The team at the zoo has decorated the amphitheatre area for the occasion, the display including pumpkins and other gourds, and some whimsical fall decor.

The train will also be decorated in a spooky theme.

The zoo is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day, and is located at 5048 264th St.
