Aldergrove comes out to 5th Country Car Show for hospice

Local friends take turns hosting the annual fundraiser

Within the first hour, there were more than 40 vehicles registered and on display at Brent Anderlini's property in Aldergrove on Saturday, Aug. 10.

This year was his turn to host the fifth annual Country Car Show, which raises funds to support the 91原创 Hospice Society.

Anderlini, owner of Anderlini Excavating, had his 1934 Ford on display again this year, a vehicle he inherited from his late father.

鈥淭his car has been to every 91原创 Cruise-In鈥 I like every car, I like the events,鈥 he said.

Last year, his friends Dennis Quiring and Alena Buis hosted the event at their property.

The annual fundraiser was started five years ago after they experience first-hand the support hospice offers people after they lose a loved one.

鈥淲e decided to support the hospice society because it鈥檚 near and dear to our hearts. Dennis鈥 mother passed away [in 2022] and we spent a lot of time there and appreciated their support, so we thought this would be great to do,鈥 Buis told The Star.

Entry was by donation, and car enthusiasts could pay a minimum donation of $20 to display their classic cars.

Local businesses such as Quiring Truck and Gravel Sales, Vantage Mechanical, and Egg Pro West donated food and funds for the barbecue.

"It's nice to be able to support a local charity," Anderlini commented.

A total amount raised was not yet available by press time.
