With a goal to foster a sense of community and support for everyone, Buddy With A Thrift Store owner Jim Romeyn is beginning a food drive initiative "Food For All."

For the drive to work, Romeyn is partnering with local food suppliers and collecting non-perishable food item donations from community members. 

He hopes that the food drive can start on Nov. 1, which the thrift store will distribute to those in need. 

"Individuals in need can access the initiative by visiting our thrift store during business hours... we will have a dedicated area for food distribution and no one will be turned away," Romeyn said. 

Buddy With A Thrift Store is open Mondays to Fridays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. It's closed on Christmas Day and New Years Day. 

In addition to collecting donations and partnerships, the thrift store will allocate a portion of its profits towards purchasing food items. 

While Romeyn hasn't done a food drive before, he's been involved in several community service projects aimed at helping people in need. 

"I understand the importance of supporting our community and have seen firsthand how such efforts can make a difference," he said. 

Which is also where Romeyn got the idea. 

"I believe that no one should go hungry, especially in our community. Many families are facing food insecurity, and I want to use the resources of our thrift store to make a positive impact," he told The Star. 

"By providing food assistance, we can help alleviate some of the burdens that individuals and families are experiencing."

Romeyn added that his store also offers other essential items such as clothing for those in need.

"I truly believe that together we can make a difference in our community."

Buddy With A Thrift Store is located at 3083 Station Rd.
