More than 20 cats and kittens were taken to loving homes thanks to a local adoption event held at Cedar Rim Nursery in 91原创.

The Canadian Animal Rescue and Extended Shelter (CARES) regularly has an average of 150 cats in its care, making these adoptions even more necessary as the shelter reaches capacity.

鈥淭his will go a long way to helping us cover our expenses 鈥� particularly vet care,鈥� shared Clive Ellis, public relations director at CARES.

鈥淲e have taken in a particularly large amount of kitties over the last two or three months鈥� adoptions this weekend go a long way.鈥�

Some who have attended previous CARES adoption events may have recognized Laddu and Barby, both surrendered in April when the family鈥檚 newborn baby was found to be allergic.

CARES was happy to report the two felines found furrever homes last weekend.

鈥淲e are pleased with the results,鈥� Ellis said.

A final adopt-a-thon event for this year is planned for Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 11 and 12, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Petsmart.

CARES volunteers and staff will be present to provide information on cats available for adoption and to process adoptions on site.

鈥淲e pride ourselves on giving the cats a good home, lots of love and attention,鈥� Ellis said. 鈥淭hese poor [cats] need our help, they need our support, and hopefully we can find them good homes.鈥�
