Dear Editor,

In Bob鈥檚 otherwise innocuous column about Halloween [No more turnips to scare off Granny, Oct. 26, 91原创 Advance] made better by the omission of any mention of President Trump, just one jarring sentence ruined the ambiance: 鈥淐hristians have never been creative, preferring to steal legends and traditions.鈥�

Jesus Christ by all accounts was a most creative mind. He warned about 鈥渢he traditions of men鈥� their inventions and interpretations.

While Christians like to observe the birth of Christ, and resurrection, nowhere is it commanded. Christ only requested that His followers 鈥淩emember Me鈥� after His death.

Easter eggs and bunnies, Pope Gregory鈥檚 declarations and Celts Samhein fall into 鈥渢raditions of men,鈥� which some appropriated falsely into Christianity. People aren鈥檛 perfect are they? Interestingly 鈥渟tealing鈥� is one of the Ten Commandments.
