Dear Editor,
I recently discovered that my six-year-old son has been quietly compiling what he believes is a groundbreaking political analysis. His research materials? The never-ending cascade of political flyers that land in our mailbox like confetti 鈥 and whatever bits of conversation he鈥檚 managed to eavesdrop on between snack breaks and LEGO construction.
Armed with a pen he snuck out from my home office, a piece of paper, and the steely focus of a kid on a sugar high, he produced a comparison chart featuring Pierre Poilievre, Jagmeet Singh, and Mark Carney.
His analysis? Pure comedy gold.
Mr. Poilievre? 鈥淵oungest MP ever.鈥
Mr. Singh? 鈥淢P in BC.鈥
Mr. Carney? Well, the highest of honours 鈥 鈥減resident of Bank of Canada.鈥
But my favourite parts were the random side notes that seem to have come from some bizarre cross-section of junk mail slogans, muffled adult conversations, and whatever he鈥檚 managed to decode from TV commercials. Things like 鈥渘ot tested鈥 and 鈥渁gainst Trump鈥 thrown in there like sprinkles on an already ridiculous ice cream sundae. It鈥檚 like he鈥檚 pieced together a political jigsaw puzzle using flyers, half-heard debates, and the occasional dramatic headline.
In his mind, he鈥檚 got it all figured out 鈥 and he鈥檚 probably ready to start his own campaign. His slogan would likely be something like, 鈥淣o Bedtimes, Only Snack Time.鈥
But what really cracks me up is the absolute confidence with which he presents his findings. As far as he鈥檚 concerned, his analysis is rock solid, and frankly, it鈥檚 more entertaining than most of what I鈥檝e read online lately. If political analysts took this approach, we鈥檇 probably all be having a lot more fun.
I wanted to share this little masterpiece with your readers because sometimes the most delightful observations come from the tiniest commentators. It鈥檚 a good reminder that while kids might not always get the details right, their enthusiasm and imagination are spot on. And hey, if nothing else, he鈥檚 learned the true purpose of all that junk mail 鈥 to spark hilarious creativity.
