One of the sure signs of spring's arrival is the annual Abbotsford Tulip Festival and this year's edition is tentatively schdueled to open on Saturday, April 5.

Over 100 varieties of flowers will be spread out on 35 acres at Lakeland Flowers, which is located just off of No. 4 road in east Abbotsford.

The festival will run for approximately three months and wraps up on July 1.

"Our favourite time of the year is approaching and we are excited to connect with everyone again," stated Nick Warmerdam, the owner of Lakeland Flowers. "We have some new photo opportunities along with bringing back some fan favourites."

New this year are four golden pathways, giant klompen (traditional dutch shoes) and the schoenen winkel (Dutch shoe store). Back for 2025 include: pianos to play in the field, canoes to sit in, swings to glide on, bicycles and viewing platforms.

The months of April and May bring tulips and assorted field flowers, while May and June feature over 30 combined acres of peonies, lupins, meadow flowers and lavender.
