The Abbotsford Canucks announced that they have signed a trio of forwards to one-year American Hockey League contracts.

General manager Ryan Johnson has brought back Cooper Walker and added forwards Lee Lapid and Ben Berard.

The Canucks revealed the signings on Wednesday (July 31).

Walker played 13 games for Abbotsford in 2023-24 and collected one goal. He also played in three playoff games. The 22-year-old played 36 games with the ECHL's Kalamazoo Wings in 2023-24 and recorded 13 points.

Prior to joining Abbotsford, he served as the team captain for the Ontario Hockey League's Guelph Storm in 2022-23. He finished that season with 21 goals and 51 points in 66 games. He is the son of former NHL-er Scott Walker.

Lapid, 26, split last season with the ECHL's Cincinnati Cyclones and SaiPa of Finland鈥檚 Liiga. He scored 27 points in 35 games with the Cyclones and had two points in 14 games with SaiPa. Lapid's rookie season in the ECHL in 2022-23 saw him collect 42 points in 59 games.

Before turning pro he played for the Buffalo-based Canisius College Griffins from 2018 to 2022. He played junior hockey with the Toronto Patriots of the Ontario Junior Hockey League.

Berard, a 25-year-old Duncan product, has spent parts of the last two seasons with the AHL's Texas Stars. He recorded four points in 30 games with the Stars in 2023-24 and played in seven playoff games.

He played college hockey with the Ithaca, N.Y.-based Cornell University Big Red from 2019 to 2023. Berard played junior hockey with the BCHL's Powell River Kings and Cowichan Valley Capitals and served as the Kings captain in the 2018-19 season. His top season in the BCHL saw him collect 67 points in 58 games in the 2017-18 season.

The Canucks open the AHL regular season in Calgary on Oct. 11 and then host the San Diego Gulls for the club's home opener on Oct. 25.
