His most productive AHL season was with the Firebirds in 2022-23 when he scored 17 goals and nine assists in 71 games. He added eight points in 26 playoff games that season.

Last season saw Twarynski begin with the Vienna Capitals in the International Central European Hockey League, but then join the Islanders in January 2024. He recorded eight points in 27 games for Bridgeport.

Twarynski played junior hockey with the Western Hockey League's Calgary Hitmen and Kelowna Rockets and put up 182 points in 257 games. He was selected by the Flyers in the third round, 82nd overall of the 2016 NHL Draft. He grew up playing minor hockey in the Calgary area.

The Abbotsford Canucks open the AHL regular season in Calgary against the Wranglers on Oct. 11 and then host the San Diego Gulls for the Abbotsford Centre home opener on Oct. 25.
