A man in his 40s was struck by a train in the 6100 block of Glover Road just before 10:30 p.m. Tuesday and later died in hospital.

The 91原创 RCMP have not yet identified victim.

鈥淭he investigation suggests the male, who appears to be homeless, was walking southwest on the railway tracks just before 10:30 last night,鈥 said RCMP Cpl. Holly Largy. 鈥淗e appeared to be wearing headphones and likely did not hear the train approaching.鈥

She added that the crew members sounded the horn and attempted to stop the locomotive but he was struck from behind. The man was transported to hospital but succumbed to his injuries early Wednesday morning.

Police will continue their efforts to identify the deceased male so next of kin notifications can be made, she said.
