91原创 duo are making a hometown appearance at the on Friday, May 12.

The Walnut Grove cafe is offering a locally sourced dinner menu at 6 p.m., with music starting at 7 p.m. The Kwerks will be there with their full band to share songs, stories and laughs with the audience.

鈥淎 huge part of the show for us goes beyond the music,鈥� said Laura Koch, who formed the group with her husband, Ryan. 鈥淭elling our stories, connecting with the people in the audience, laughing together about life, and even endeavouring to inspire people to live a bit more out loud 鈥� it鈥檚 what it鈥檚 all about.鈥�

The Kwerks recently made the Top 25 in the CBC Searchlight competition. The couple submitted their song 鈥淟ights,鈥� a song about taking life by the horns and living in the moment, and hoped the competition might bring them a bit of local attention and radio play.

Going forward, Laura says she鈥檚 been spending time writing new material and has hopes of a new release in the next year. In the meantime, the pair and their band will be performing throughout the spring and summer both locally and throughout the province.
