Everyone has the right to play and to have access to the arts 鈥 regardless of their financial situation.
That鈥檚 the motivation behind a 91原创-based arts society called PLAY, and the driving force behind a fundraiser happening at the Chief Sepass Theatre this weekend.
Professional Live Arts For Youth (PLAY) Society is hosting a Photoshoot Fundraiser on Sunday, Nov. 5, from 3 to 6 p.m., that will help the organization provide 鈥渁ffordable鈥 drama and musical theatre classes in 91原创, said executive director Brad Tones.
鈥淭his fundraiser is for the whole family, whether you want to come out and get some nice family pictures done or put your silly face on and have some fun for the camera,鈥 he added.
鈥淲e鈥檒l bring the costumes, you bring the smiles,鈥 Tones said. 鈥淧LAY Society will be bringing their tickle trunk of props and costumes as well if anyone wants to use them. There will also be light refreshments served, lots of prizes including Canucks tickets and a helicopter tour and games for the kids.
Tickets are $15 for adults and free for kids. Plus, there鈥檚 a separate charge for the photos 鈥 five poses for $25.
Tickets are available at 604-612-2071, at playsociety.ca, or in person at the door.
