Anyone attending the Port Kells Art Club's annual spring show and sale on Sunday, May 4, has a chance to meet the artists who created the works on display.
The club members will be participating in their show which runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Fort 91原创 Community Hall, 9167 Glover Rd.
There will be a wide variety of original artwork as well as art cards for sale, giving people the opportunity to nkot only view the artwork but also meet the artists.
"The art show is a week before Mother鈥檚 Day, so feel free to look around for that special gift for Mom," noted member Anne White.
The club is active September through May, taking the summer off. Its goal is members participating artistically within a friendly and supportive network of other visual artists.
The not-for-profit club was formed in 1962 by a group of local artists, and has always been managed and operated by the club members. The PKAC is a registered society under both the provincial and federal charities acts, and is a member of the 91原创 Arts Council, Arts Council of Surrey and BC Arts Council.
Membership is open to all people who are interested in supporting the arts and fellow artists, no matter the level of skill. The club encourage members to reach their potential by offering them participation in classes, plein air, outside venue sales, and local art exhibitions.
