The second annual Barnside Harvest Festival gets going Friday afternoon (Sept. 13) with three days of live music in Ladner.

Thousands of people will fill  for performances by Loverboy, Sam Roberts Band, The Glorious Sons and many other bands on three stages set up at the corner of highway 10 and 17A, Friday through Sunday.

Backed by a Delta beer company, the Barnside festival also features a Kids鈥� World, artisan market, food trucks, seating areas, bars, mini golf and a new 鈥淐hair Check鈥� hosted by the Tsawwassen Boundary Bay Lions Club. Tickets are sold on , where the detailed schedule is posted.

Local band Yukon Blonde kicks things off Friday at 4:30 p.m., followed Sunday with a festival-closing set by Loverboy at 7:30 p.m.

"The on-site parking spaces are nearly sold out," a news release notes. "Passholders who have pre-purchased on-site parking tickets can proceed to the on-site parking area by proceeding south on Harvest Drive to Mountain View Blvd, turn left and travel to Clarence Taylor Cres." 

Translink has added extra 601 Express buses to help get attendees to and from the festival site. Courtesy of Pedego Delta, a Bike Valet will be staffed by Tsawwassen Rotary.

Delta Firefighters Charitable Society hosts a 50/50 draw at Barnside Harvest Festival for a second year. Heron Hospice Society will hold a raffle that includes prizes of a handmade guitar signed by Loverboy and two tickets to see Bruce Springsteen in concert.

The festival uses a non-transferable wristband system for all three-day passholders and VIP tickets.
