Actor Molly Parker stars in the new FOX television series 'DOC'

Molly Parker, who hails from Maple Ridge, stars in the new FOX medical drama 'DOC'.

Maple Ridge actor Molly Parker is starring in a new FOX medical drama. 

Parker plays the lead character on the television series called 'DOC', part of the Fox prime time lineup for the 2024-25 season.

Her character, Dr. Amy Larsen, is the Chief of Internal and Family Medicine at Westside Hospital in Minneapolis. 

However, after a car crash, a brain injury erases the memory from the last eight years of her life and now she has to try to remember her past life with the help of her estranged 17-year-old daughter. 

Parker was born in Maple Ridge and raised in Pitt Meadows. 

According to The Canadian Encyclopedia, she was encouraged by her parents into the arts including ballet and acting, which she studied at the Gastown Actors Studio in Vancouver.

Her early work includes the film 'My Son Johnny' and roles in television programs like 'The Highlander', 'The Outer Limits' and 'Neon Rider'.

Parker's film career has included roles in numerous feature films such as 'The Good Shepherd', 'Hollywoodland', and Neil LaBute's 'The Wicker Man'. She won the best actress award from the Beverley Hills Film Festival for her role in the 2006 film 'Who Loves the Sun', and was the lead in the CBS series 'Swingtown'. 

The 'DOC' series airs at 9 p.m. Tuesday nights on the FOX network and Global TV.
