A free adult singing class, Singing for the Soul, is being offered by professional recording artist and singing teacher, Rhayne.

Taking place May 9 at the Parish of St. George in Fort 91原创, the welcoming, relaxed group class will feature songs from a variety of music genres, including blues, pop, classics, jazz, musical theatre, rock, R&B and more.

Rhayne, who grew up performing in musical theatre in Victoria, will also teach vocal injury prevention using the 鈥淩hayne Method.鈥�

She created this technique using her background in nursing, vocal training with Ralph Cole of the Nylons, classical voice and choir training, live performing and recording experience.

In 2014 she released her original CD, Rhayne remastered, and some of the dance tracks have recently been licensed by the boutique Swedish record label Yellow Rhinestone Records. Through them she has garnered FM radio and club play for her songs throughout the UK, Europe, parts of the U.S. and Australia.

Rhayne also teaches regular group singing classes at the Surrey Arts Centre, and will be offering a paid seven-week series starting May 16 in Fort 91原创.

The free class on May 9 takes place from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Beginners and experienced singers are welcome. Participants are encouraged to bring a water bottle and wear comfortable clothing.
