Musician Allan MacKinnon is bringing his live guitar show to the on Thursday, Aug. 3.
The event is part of the gallery鈥檚 鈥淔irst Thursday鈥� initiative, where on the first Thursday of each month they host a variety of local visual artists, writers, poets and musicians.
MacKinnon has kept a life-long interest in playing guitar live. He particularly enjoys improvisational work and often mixes light jazz and blues together in a soft rock and easy listening style.
Also featured at the event are many of the artists from the gallery鈥檚 annual juried show, . This year鈥檚 theme celebrates Canada鈥檚 150th birthday and the notion of national identity. That show runs until Aug. 6.
The Fort Gallery is located at 9048 Glover Rd. Regular hours are Wednesday to Sunday, noon to 5 p.m.
