Sundance Solace Society is hosting a ride-a-thon in town this weekend.
This event is designed to raise funds to ensure free access to mental health services that utilize horses and nature, said Flora Balducci.
The ride happens Saturday, Oct. 14, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Campbell Valley Regional Park.
It鈥檚 fun for everyone, Balducci said. There will be costumes, clowns, facepainting, music, food, and prizes.
Riders and walkers (as well as dogs) are welcome.
Details and online entry at www.sundancesolace.com. Riders participate for $5 or free with more than $100 in pledges, while walkers can take part for $25 or free with more than $65 in pledges.

Travellers鈥� show debuts at fort gallery
An Abbotsford and Coquitlam artists are partnering to bring the newest show to the Fort Gallery this week.
A show by Alex Burton of Abbotsford and Don Portelance of Coquitlam opened Wednesday, and continues through until Oct. 29.
The show, Journey 鈥� Time/Space, focuses on two different travel experiences by two different painters.
Portelance, a long-time artist and Fort Gallery member, presents paintings based on his many years of travel.
鈥淚 have created images inspired by many countries using various approaches; painting on site, working from photos, or abstracting the scene鈥攚hatever best shows the essence of the place. Often abstracted elements are incorporated into a piece to explore symbolic or environmental concerns, or to isolate facets of the subject,鈥� Portelance said.
Burton presents oil paintings focusing on a completely different kind of journey鈥攖he travel of childhood.
鈥淚 am intrigued by symbols and drawings which seem to be universal. These symbols have shown up since the beginning of recorded time and can always be seen in children鈥檚 art from all over the globe. These paintings are whimsical, colourful, and adventurous attempts at recreating the joy the symbols embody,鈥� Burton said.
The show features an opening reception this Sunday, Oct. 15, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the gallery, 9048 Glover Rd. in Fort 91原创.

Ukes release Canada 150 CD at weekend concert
An all Canadian collection of music will be debuted this weekend by the world-renowned 91原创 Ukulele Ensemble.
In honour of the country鈥檚 150th birthday this year, the ensemble has been putting together a tribute album.
And that CD is being released during a special Canada 150 concert in Fort 91原创 on Saturday, Oct. 14, starting at 7 p.m.
Be one of the first to hear the new CD performed live at the Chief Sepass Theatre, 9096 Trattle Street.

Blues legends perform at Cascades
The Legendary Downchild Blues Band has won countless music industry awards during the past half century. Yet, with all their hits and awards, this band is probably best known as the inspiration for the Dan Aykroyd, John Belushi hit movie, The Blues Brothers.
In fact, Aykroyd says 鈥淭here would be no Blues Brothers, if it weren鈥檛 for Downchild.鈥�
Well, this band is performing in 91原创 this coming weekend.
The Legendary Downchild Blues Band performs at Cascades Casino on Sunday, Oct. 15, with the doors opening at 6 p.m. and the show at 7.
The show will also feature guest star and award-winning musician David Gogo.
