Kids between the ages of five and 12 can create holiday cards in a new contest

Local kids ages five to 12 can see their artwork on Christmas cards in a new contest by the Fort 91原创 Jazz and Arts Festival.

The Holiday Card Contest for Youth runs until Friday, Nov. 29.

鈥淭he Fort 91原创 Jazz and Arts Festival may be synonymous with music 鈥 but it鈥檚 so much more,鈥 said Karen Zukas, the festival鈥檚 executive director. 鈥淭he festival celebrates artistic expression in so many forms. With that in mind, we are inviting all youth in 91原创 and surrounding communities, ages five to12, to submit holiday-themed artwork that celebrates the joy of music and the magic of the season.鈥

The winning art will be used on festival cards that are sent to festival supporters, sponsors, and partners. As well, the winners receive 10 cards with their artwork on them in addition to a $50 gift card of their choice.

The contest is divided into four age categories: ages five and six; seven and eight; nine and 10, and 11 or 12. A winner from each age category will be selected.

Artwork should be five by seven inches or a similar ratio, up to a maximum of 10 by 14 inches. Participants can use traditional mediums like crayons, pencils, paints, or pastels. AI-generated digital artwork is not accepted.

Submissions can be made by uploading a high-resolution scan online or mailing the original piece to 9352 Singh St., Fort 91原创, B.C., V1M 4G2. (Mailed submissions will not be returned.)
