In response to suggestions from shoppers, the 91原创 Meadows Community Association is considering holding a spring craft fair next year, their first.

It comes after they had to delay their annual Christmas fair fundraiser by two weeks, said Jory Threinen program coordinator for the association.

This year, it was held on Saturday, Nov. 18 at the 91原创 Meadows Community School.

鈥淲e didn鈥檛 have as much traffic as we had in the past, but we did have to change our date,鈥� Threinen told the 91原创 Advance Times. 鈥淣ormally we鈥檙e two weeks ahead.鈥�

鈥淎 lot of people actually asked for a spring market,鈥� Threinen said.

鈥淲e鈥檝e never done that before but if the people are asking for it, I think we will definitely consider a spring market. My goal is to give the people what they want and I鈥檓 happy to to do so.鈥�

It was still in the black with roughly $600 to $700 raised for worthy community programs, Threinen estimated.

鈥淭hat鈥檚 a win,鈥� Threinen said.

鈥淎nything above the cost of our facilities is a win. We only really make money off of donations and the table rentals and the concession.鈥�

The event has always taken place on the first Saturday of November, but the creation of a new statutory holiday disrupted their schedule.

鈥淲e have another fair before this one called our Fall Fair [with] pony rides and carnival games, which is always the last Saturday of September, but due to Truth and Reconciliation being a stat now, we鈥檝e had to move our fall fair, and then Thanksgiving pops up in there. Basically, it shifted those two events [by] two weeks.鈥�

Up next, this coming Saturday, Dec. 2, the society will host their annual Santa pancake breakfast from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the school, located at 2244 Willoughby Way.

鈥淲e have pancakes, bacon and crafts and Santa will be there from 8:30 to 9:30. It鈥檚 seven dollars a person, or a family of five for $35.鈥�
