VIDEO: Pets pose for pics with Santa at 91原创 fundraiser

Event raised money for Loveabull Rescue Society

In between getting her shots at the Loveabull Rescue Society 鈥淧awp-Up Pet Photos with Santa鈥 fundraiser in Murrayville, photographer K.J. Lim explained why dogs are less challenging than other animals to photograph.

鈥淒ogs tend to be easier,鈥 Lim told the 91原创 Advance Times.

鈥淎 lot of them are better with commands. So if you choose a treat, or even a squeaky toy, they tend to look,鈥 remarked Lim.

鈥淐ats are a little bit harder because they don鈥檛 really listen to a lot of the commands. A bunny or a pig, it gets a little more challenging. If they鈥檙e moving quick, it鈥檚 a little bit harder to take the photo.鈥

Lim, who operates as , was helping Loveabull raise funds to rebuild after a COVID-caused pause that forced the Cloverdale-based animal rescue agency to temporarily suspend new adoptions.

Held Sunday Nov. 19, at the Boseley鈥檚 store in Murrayville, photos of pets with Santa were being taken for a minimum $20 donation, while MJC Artistry was offering face painting and temporary tattoos, also by donation.

Loveabull founder Kate Crew said the 10-year-old registered non-profit had a rough time during the pandemic.

鈥淲e didn鈥檛 have a lot of adoptions. so we鈥檙e just trying to pick up and get adoptions going now,鈥 Crew said.

鈥淲e need money and we鈥檙e just raising funds for for that cause.鈥

Crew said Lovebull just had two dogs, who were in temporary foster homes, become permanent adoptees.

鈥淭he good news is, we have two dogs adopted,鈥 Crew explained.

鈥淭he bad news is, we have two fewer foster homes [as a result].鈥

One of the dogs to pose with Santa , four-year old Pedro, was also a former Loveabull foster dog whose temporary home became permanent.

鈥淗e鈥檚 an alumni,鈥 noted Annabel Aspler, the LoveABull director who gave Pedro his forever home.

Online, the society mission statement says it is 鈥渄edicated to helping misunderstood dogs find their forever homes. We are working towards dissolving the bully breed stigma by giving these dogs the opportunity to show people how amazing they are.鈥
