Grade 7s are fundraising for the year-end camp.

Two local schools are looking for the public to help with donations for secondhand fundraisers.

Coghlan Fundamental Elementary has a garage sale planned for March 9, while Betty Gilbert Middle School is planning a book swap for the students.

Coghlan Fundamental Elementary

The fundamental school Grade 7s are hosting their first community garage sale fundraiser on March 9 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The proceeds go to the year-end camp.

But to have a sale, they need good stuff to sell. The public is being asked for donations of gently used, functional items, although no mattresses can be accepted.

Donations can be taken to the school right before the sale. Drop-offs are accepted between 1:30 and 3 p.m. on Friday, March 8 and on Saturday, March 9, between 8 and 9 a.m.

Anyone wanting more information can email mrositch@hotmail.com.

Betty Gilbert Middle School

The middle school is welcoming donations of gently used books appropriate for ages 10 to 14. They can be dropped off at the schoool, 26845 27th Ave., between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. from Monday to Friday. The donations must be dropped off no later than March 1.

The goal is to have enough books for every student to receive one before spring break in March.
