Meet Asher

The Township鈥檚 new fire department mascot has been unveiled. Asher the Fire Dog will be at some of the open houses.

鈥淎sher鈥檚 mission is to promote fire safety in the Township of 91原创,鈥 said chief Jason de Roy. 鈥淎sher will be lending a paw to firefighters, teaching children how to stop, drop and roll, attending community events and more. We鈥檙e delighted to have Asher on our team.鈥

Asher was named by Nadine Krikke鈥檚 Grade 6 class at Credo Christian School, through a contest that was open to all public and private elementary school classes in the Township. The winning class will receive a pizza party, goodie bags, and visit with Asher and firefighters in June.

鈥淭here were many excellent and creative names to choose from,鈥 added de Roy. 鈥淚t was not an easy decision, but in the end, we decided Asher was the perfect name.鈥
