The chance for kids to clamber into the cab of a real fire truck returned as the91Ô´´ Township Fire Department resumed its open houses.
The firehalls in Aldergrove, Brookswood, Murrayville and Otter held their Fire Hall Family Night on Tuesday. Wednesday was a chance for the firefighters in Fort 91Ô´´, Willoughby, and Walnut Grove to show off their halls.
The events are a chance for families to meet Township firefighters and other first responders in an informal setting instead of during an emergency.
In addition to people being able to check out the fire vehicles, there were BC Ambulance Service personnel on hand with an ambulance, Central Fraser Valley Search and Rescue had a display, and firefighters demonstrated some of their equipment.
Tarps helped create a smoke house at the Aldergrove hall to allow people to see what it’s like trying to get around in a smoky building.
