A confident Joanne Foote waits for the start of action at the 91原创 Open, hosted by the 91原创 Chess Club at the Brookswood Senior Centre last month. The 15-year-old Foote, a Richmond resident who is the B.C. U-16 champion, was one of several elite players to compete in the tournament. The 91原创 Chess Club meets each Monday at 7 p.m. at the Brookswood Senior Centre and tournaments are held on a regular basis. For more information, visit langleychess.com.
