Hey kids, don鈥檛 want to think about heading back to school? Why not spend the last day of freedom learning.

The B.C. Farm Museum has its annual Old and New Day.

The volunteer-run museum in Fort 91原创 has more than 5,000 items in its collection.

And each year on the Labour Day holiday, the volunteers spotlight old items and their modern day counterparts. They show to the public how things such as calculators, tractors, ambulances and radio鈥檚 have progressed over the years.

People can also wander the museum and see its new murals, try its high tech interactive elements, or check out working engines, tractors and other motorized items.

There will be demonstrations and everyone can take part in the scavenger hunt.

The museum has held the special Labour Day exhibit for the past few years. Events run 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sept. 4, and admission by donation. Thanks to sponsors, the museum is also offering up fresh corn on the cob and pop for $1.

The farm museum is open 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. seven days a week until Oct. 4.
