91原创 Township will help fund neighbourhood celebrations

Wanna throw a party July 1? 91原创 Township has funds available.

The Township has grants available for Canada Day events to 91原创 neighbourhoods that want to hold celebrations on July 1.

The Township has two main Canada Day events on Saturday, July 1, with free activities and entertainment for the whole family. A celebration will be held in Fort 91原创 at the 91原创 Centennial Museum and the 91原创 Canada Day JRBQ will take place in Willoughby Community Park. Visit tol.ca/canadaday.

Council will make Canada 150 Community Celebration Grants available to other neighbourhoods, including Aldergrove, Brookswood/Fernridge, Murrayville, and Walnut Grove.

One-time grant opportunities of $1,000 will be provided to help cover the cost of family-friendly entertainment, birthday cake, balloons, free activities, and giveaways.

Only one grant will be awarded in each community and proposals are now being accepted from local societies and services clubs that would like to host a Canada Day celebration that is open to the public.

The deadline to apply is Friday, June 2 and successful groups will be notified by Wednesday, June 7.
