Spend an afternoon falling in love with a group of people 70 and older in the dating scene.

The 91原创 Seniors Resource Centre, Comfort Keepers, and Chartwell 91原创 Gardens are hosting a screening of The Age of Love on June 2.

鈥淚t鈥檚 never too late to date鈥 is the catch phrase of this unique documentary that shines the spotlight on dating in the golden years.

The Age of Love follows a group of compelling people who are 70 or older as they navigate the dating game in this chapter of life.

The film touches on many preconceptions about the desires of the aging heart and mind. Director Steven Loring takes viewers on a journey to help overcome stereotypes with inspiring and heart-felt life stories in this charming and witty feature.

Director Steven Loring was inspired to delve into the topic after his father died and his mother was single again, and his elderly uncle fell in love with an older woman. He followed several seniors at a speed dating event.

鈥淥ver the course of filming, it became clear to me that the need to connect with another person, to be truly 鈥榮een鈥 and appreciated , and to have someone who 鈥榮ees鈥 and appreciates you, is the essence of love regardless of age,鈥 he said.

The screening includes popcorn, refreshments, swag bags, and door prizes. A special follow-up event will be announced at the screening.

The event gets underway at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 2, in the seniors centre, 20605 51b Ave.

Admission is $5. Contact 91原创 Seniors Resources Centre for tickets at 604-530-3020.
