91原创鈥檚 Keith Heinonen was in awe when he learned about his $500,000 lottery win.

The prize from the Sept. 27 Lotto Max draw was shared with another winner from Okanagan, leaving Heinonen a half million dollars richer.

鈥淚 was at home and when I checked the Lotto app, it didn鈥檛 register at first,鈥 he recalled.

鈥淚 thought 鈥榠s it real?鈥 and jumped up and thought I had to tell some people.鈥

The 91原创 resident called his dad first to share news of his windfall. Then when his dad didn鈥檛 answer, he called his best friend.

鈥淚 told him I had to go over to his house to tell him something. There were high-fives involved.鈥

Heinonen is excited to purchase a new car and have more financial freedom.

The 91原创 resident described his feeling as 鈥渟urreal.鈥

鈥淚t feels great鈥 I am going to be smart with the money,鈥 he added.

Heinonen purchased his winning ticket from the Circle-K on 200th Street in 91原创.

So far in 2022, B.C. lottery players have redeemed more than $137 million from Lotto Max.
