"I pretty much fell over!" said Robert B. when he heard his name called out as the grand prize winner of a provincial casinos contest.
It was a contest exclusive to casino-going Encore Rewards members who swiped their cards when entering any of the Gateway Casinos across British Columbia. And in addition to weekly and biweekly prize giveaways, there was a $100,000 grand prize winner, and Robert is still a little shocked it was him.
"My wife and I like to come here every morning and spend about five hours playing games," the frequent slot player noted of his visits to Cascades Casino in 91原创 City.
He and his wife were in there July 28, when the Smash for Cash grand prize winner was announced.
"It was about 10 after 4 (p.m.) and I thought the draw must be over. Then, I heard my name and pushed my way through the crowd to get to the front," he said, noting his wife was sitting near the front waiting for the draw.
When asked what he's going to do with the windfall, Robert admitted he wasn't too sure.
"I haven't really thought about it too much. We have everything we need," he said.
For now, they gave $10,000 each to their three daughters, and have socked the rest away in their savings account at the bank.
