A Little Winter Wonderland in Willoughby won't just delight visitors with the lights, music, and even visits with Santa and other special guests. It will help provide a Christmas holiday for 10 local families that are struggling financially.

"Our displays start at 5:30 every night till Christmas Eve," said Chadd Little.

The lights are on nightly until about 10 p.m. in the display at 7240 210 St.

Every night Santa or a special guest character will be in the photo hut.

"We ask that people join our community group to sign up for times to guarantee photos," he said. "Santa is the main person that will be in the photo hut, But this year the Grinch will appear for one to two nights, a Country Western Santa for one night, Chewbacca from Star Wars one night and Jack Skelington as well."

The lights and music are playing, and there are hot drinks available between 7 and 8:30 p.m., games for kids, storytelling, and many photo opps including a small sleigh. Kids can drop off their letters to Santa. Little explained that two days after dropping off their letters, they can stop by to pick up Santa's reply.

"We have a corner for local musicians if they want to come sit and play Christmas music as well, along with our fire pit where we will have our Smores with Santa," he said.

The events are free to make them accessible to families but if anyone visiting is able to make a donation, the funds to to support the 10 families HSG Community is helping this holiday season. Information is posted on the HSG Community Facebook page about the families' needs. People can drop off those items when visiting the Christmas display.

"Right now we have 10 families registered that we will be helping out with a total of 10 moms, seven dads, three baby boys, one baby on their way, seven boys and six girls between three and 12, two teenage boys, and five teenage girls," he explained. "There are more needing help, but we are pausing at 10 to make sure we can help them get the basic items we are wanting to get each family."

In addition to Christmas, HSG has events at Halloween, and frequent garage sales and craft fairs. For more, go to https://www.facebook.com/share/g/1B88bH3vPo/.
