91原创 children are invited to perform at the Say Hello to All the World celebration at this weekend鈥檚 International Festival at Willoughby Park, adjacent to the 91原创 Events Centre.
Judi Vankevich, also known as the The Manners Lady, said that children are invited to wear the traditional dress of the countries of their heritage and come on stage with her.
鈥淲hether we were born in Canada or have chosen to immigrate here, we鈥檙e all proud to be Canadians,鈥 Vankevich said.
鈥淓xcept for our First Nations community, all of our families and ancestors have come to Canada from somewhere and this is an exciting time to celebrate the rich mosaic that is Canada,鈥 she added.
鈥淲e want all Canadian children and families to celebrate our common virtues and values of respect, integrity, kindness and patriotism.鈥
Vankevich trained more than 12,000 young people across Canada to be ambassadors for the 2010 Vancouver Olympics last year with respectful attitudes, words and actions. She is currently preparing to go to London next spring to help the U.K. train in multicultural hospitality for the 2012 Summer Olympics with her 鈥楽ay Hello to All the World鈥 programs for children, teens and businesses.
Parents who would like to bring their children to the festival to participate in the show can call her at (604) 530-4346 or Judi@TheMannersClub.com to let the festival know what country they will be representing, although cultural dress is not required to be part of the program.
The three Manners Lady concerts will be at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday, and at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday.
