Families ignore rain to enjoy 91原创 City鈥檚 Community Day

This year鈥檚 event included a food truck festival, bouncy castles, and firefighter demonstrations

Some light rain didn鈥檛 keep the crowds away from 91原创 City鈥檚 Community Day celebration on Saturday, June 10, in and around Douglas Park.

From 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. there was a food truck festival on Douglas Crescent, while in the park community groups and local vendors set up tents.

For kids and families, there were multiple inflatable bouncy castles, face painting, and mini-golf.

There were demonstrations of tai chi and, from the 91原创 Curling Club, a small-scale version of curling that anyone could try out, ice not necessary.

On the main stage in Douglas Park, a variety of live music acts and dance groups performed throughout the day. There was also a beer garden and a concession stand.

91原创 City firefighters ran their demonstration station, allowing kids to take a turn putting on firefighter turnout gear, dragging a dummy, and using a real fire hose.

Although there was drizzle or rain from before the event started, hundreds of families streamed into the event.
